Updating Your Firmware

To update the Oakboard Mini Firmware, simply follow these three steps:

  1. Download and open the Teensy Loader (download the Teensy Loader Disk Image from this link) No need to install to the hard drive. This app can be run from the disk image (but security settings in MacOS may require approval).
  2. Drag the MiniFirmware.hex file onto the open and running Teensy Loader Application. Be sure the green AUTO button is illuminated.
  3. Access bootload mode in one of two ways, depending on which version of the firmware you are currently using.
    • Hold the STOP and NEXT buttons when plugging in the USB cable.
    • Press and hold the stop button for 20 seconds (until all buttons flash 3 times)
    • Press the PREV, TOP MIDDLE, NEXT and STOP buttons simultaneously

 The Oakboard will reboot with the new firmware installed.

 

To update the Oakboard Sllide Duo Firmware, simply follow these three steps:

  1. Download and open the Teensy Loader (download the Teensy Loader Disk Image from this link) No need to install to the hard drive. This app can be run from the disk image (but security settings in MacOS may require approval).
  2. Drag the SlideDuoFirmware1.51L.hex file onto the open and running Teensy Loader Application. Be sure the green AUTO button is illuminated.
  3. Access bootload mode in one of two ways, depending on which version of the firmware you are currently using.
    • Hold the STOP and NEXT buttons when plugging in the USB cable.
    • Press and hold the stop button for 20 seconds (until all buttons flash 3 times)
    • Press the PREV, TOP MIDDLE, NEXT and STOP buttons simultaneously

 The Oakboard will reboot with the new firmware installed.

* Please note that due to a hardware upgrade, Oakbaord Slide Duo purchased prior to 8 September, 2021, will use the L versioned (legacy) firmware. 

 

To update the Oakboard Floor Vista Firmware, simply follow these three steps:

  1. Download and open the Teensy Loader (download the Teensy Loader Disk Image from this link) No need to install to the hard drive. This app can be run from the disk image (but security settings in MacOS may require approval).
  2. Drag the FloorVistaFirmware.hex file onto the open and running Teensy Loader Application. Be sure the green AUTO button is illuminated.
  3. Access bootload mode in one of two ways, depending on which version of the firmware you are currently using.
    • Hold the STOP and NEXT buttons when plugging in the USB cable.
    • Press and hold the stop button for 20 seconds (until all buttons flash 3 times)
    • Press the PREV, TOP MIDDLE, NEXT and STOP buttons simultaneously

 The Oakboard will reboot with the new firmware installed.
